Fire
The Fire Collection by Off Grid Studio — Wood-Fired Inspired Porcelain Dinnerware by Sam Gordon
Some things can only be made by hand, heat, and time. Fire is one of them.
Potter Sam Gordon didn't set out to make tableware that looks handcrafted. He set out to capture something more elemental — the ancient, unpredictable alchemy of wood-fired ceramics, where the kiln is fed by hand, the wood burns through the night, and the glaze is finished not by design but by nature itself. As the wood burns, its minerals vaporize and fuse with the clay, leaving organic, brush-like glaze effects that no two firings — and no two pieces — will ever replicate.
"Wood fired ceramics is in my opinion the truest form of pottery; the clay is dug from the earth, touched by hands and transformed by fired wood." — Sam Gordon
Fire is offered in two semi-matte glazes that tell the story of the kiln itself. Smoke — cool, shifting, and atmospheric, like embers fading to ash. Timber — warm, earthy, and grounded, like the wood that made it. Available across nine shapes in coupe and presentation-style profiles, each piece is intentionally reactive, with unique highlights, subtle color shifts, and edge details that belong to that piece alone.
This is not tableware that was designed to look artisan. It is artisan — right down to the minerals in the clay.
Wood-fired inspired porcelain dinnerware, made the way pottery was always meant to be made. Off Grid, and worth every moment.
